Football Game Preview: Coquille vs. Amity

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Amity. On Friday they take on Coquille at 7:00 PM. Coquille will need to watch out since Amity have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.

Amity put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last week. They steamrollered Salem Academy 47-7. The Amity offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Meanwhile, Coquille might have drawn first blood against Jefferson, but it was Jefferson who got the last laugh. Coquille came up short against Jefferson, falling 14-22.

Amity's win lifted them to 3-0 while Coquille's loss dropped them down to 2-1. In their win, Amity relied heavily on senior Jonathan Mather, who rushed for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns. Coquille will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
