            Softball Recap: Prestonsburg Blackcats vs. Knott County Central Patriots        
        
		
        
        
            Prestonsburg lost against Knott County Central back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Wednesday. The Blackcats fell just short of the Patriots by a score of  8-7. The Blackcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Ashley Mahan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Amelia Newsome, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
Prestonsburg's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Knott County Central, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prestonsburg will head out to  take on Elliott County  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Blackcats are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak. As for Knott County Central, they will venture away from home to  face off against Wolfe County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
