It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Saline ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past the Dexter Dreadnaughts 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Dreadnaughts: they've now won five in a row.
Abby Curtis spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Gracie Waldrop was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lucy Winters, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Saline's record now sits at 20-6-1. As for Dexter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
