Softball Recap: Minster Makes It 18 in a Row at Home

It was a proper cat-fight when Minster took on Whitmer on Saturday. Minster came out on top in a nail-biter against Whitmer, sneaking past 7-5. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Brooklyn Osterloh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 12 hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Lauren Tyler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Addi Inskeep was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Minster pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Whitmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minster will head out to square off against Indian Lake at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitmer, they will venture away from home to challenge Elmwood at 5:00 p.m. on the 31st.
