Basketball Recap: Herington Comes Up Short

Herington won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They took a blow against the Little River Redskins, falling 75-48. The loss continues a trend for the Railroaders in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now lost nine in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Herington lost, don't look at Mason Mortensen. Despite the final result, he posted 30 points and six boards. The game was Mortensen's third in a row with at least ten points.

Little River got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaren Garrison out in front who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds. What's more, Garrison also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Logan Renken was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five assists and five boards.

Herington's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Little River, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Herington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-23 loss against Wichita HomeSchool on the 28th. Little River has also already played their next match, a 37-34 win against Solomon on the 4th.
