Basketball Game Preview: Castle View Sabercats vs. Douglas County Huskies

The Castle View Sabercats will venture away from home to challenge the Douglas County Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Castle View came up short against Chaparral and fell 47-39. The loss continues a trend for the Sabercats in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Douglas County posted their biggest win since January 14th on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Ponderosa with a sharp 46-22 victory. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

Castle View better keep an eye on Natalie Knight. She was instrumental in Douglas County's win, putting up 14 points. Knight is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Megan Thorne, who posted eight points along with ten boards and three blocks.

Douglas County's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-15. As for Castle View, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

Castle View lost to Douglas County on the road by a decisive 47-31 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Castle View, Sofia Baldessari (who went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks) won't be suiting up this time.
