Baseball Game Preview: East Leopards vs. Highland Rams

The East Leopards will head out to face off against the Highland Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (East has three straight wins, Highland has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a classic East v. West duel when East challenged West on Friday. The Leopards put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 13-3 victory.

Josh Treend made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Treend was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Lunt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. East is undefeated when Lunt posts two or more runs, but 0-10 otherwise. Beckham Christensen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Highland's offense. They came up short against Brighton on Friday, falling 21-0.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for East, their record is now 3-10.

East took their win against Highland in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Leopards since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
