Volleyball Recap: Morgan Township Cherokees vs. Washington Township Senators
Morgan Township lost against Washington Township back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cherokees fell just short of the Senators by a score of 3-2.
Morgan Township wouldn't go down easily and took Washington Township into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-11.
Despite the loss, Morgan Township saw an underclassman step up: freshman Marshall Craigin had 19 digs and two aces. Zac Leek also deserves some recognition as he had his first blocks of the season.
Morgan Township's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Washington Township, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgan Township will host Kouts at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Washington Township, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hammond Central at 6:30 p.m.
