Baseball Game Preview: Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers vs. Melbourne Bulldogs

The Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Melbourne Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy beat Cocoa Beach 7-2.

Seth Monteleon looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Noah Thatcher and Marco Dawson did most of the damage at the plate: Thatcher scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Dawson scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Thatcher a new career-high in doubles (two). Ethan Nunes was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Melbourne sidestepped Wheaton Academy for a 5-4 victory.

Noah Lopez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That hit marked the first that he allowed this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bryce Conner, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's record now sits at 6-9. As for Melbourne, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Melbourne in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
