Baseball Recap: Fillmore's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Fillmore ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Elba Lancers 3-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won four games in a row.

Damon Potter spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fillmore's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Connor McCumiskey, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Fillmore pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Elba, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Fillmore nor Elba have any future games scheduled.
