Softball Recap: Berea-Midpark's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Berea-Midpark dropped their record down to 11-4-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 10-6.

As for Olmsted Falls, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For Olmsted Falls' part, MOLLY SHEEHAN spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. SHEEHAN has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Olmsted Falls saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was HAILEY KLAMUT, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berea-Midpark will head out to take on Elyria at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.37 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Olmsted Falls, they will head out on the road to square off against Midview at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
