Volleyball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Smith-Cotton Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Monday.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-8.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Smith-Cotton, their win bumped their record up to 8-11-2.

Looking ahead, Marshall will welcome Chillicothe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Smith-Cotton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Santa Fe on the 27th.
