Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Kyren Smith

The Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 57-50 win over Friendship Christian. That's another feather in the cap for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Kyren Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with five rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Powery, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

Friendship Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eugene Amadi, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Amadi is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hunter Peed, who scored 17 points.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Friendship Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Raleigh HomeSchool is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
