Baseball Game Preview: Grand Lake Hornets vs. Bell City Bruins

The Grand Lake Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Bell City Bruins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Grand Lake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Bell City's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Grand Lake will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Merryville on Thursday. The Hornets blew past the Panthers 14-2. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Bell City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Welsh. The shutout was out of character for the Bruins seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Grand Lake pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Bell City, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
