Soccer Game Preview: Narrows vs. Eastern Montgomery

Narrows is 0-10 against Eastern Montgomery since March of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Green Waves are taking a road trip to square off against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Narrows took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Parry McCluer 4-1. Considering Narrows have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jarrett Long and Jameson Helton scored all four of Narrows' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Meanwhile, Eastern Montgomery had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They never let the Yosemite Sam get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. Give Eastern Montgomery's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Eastern Montgomery now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Narrows, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Narrows couldn't quite get it done against Eastern Montgomery when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 2-0. Can the Green Waves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
