Basketball Recap: Metamora Victorious

Metamora picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Lake Zurich Bears out 70-67. Given the Redbirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Bears are ranked 168th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Metamora's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Lake Zurich, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Metamora will host Morgan Park at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lake Zurich, they will be playing at home against Zion-Benton at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th.
