Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Wildcats vs. Centerville Elks

Springfield hasn't had much luck against Centerville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Elks at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Springfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Springfield is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since January 31st on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Purcell Marian, sneaking past 62-59.

Meanwhile, Centerville had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They pulled ahead with a 40-39 photo finish over Northmont on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Elks in their matchups with the Thunderbolts: they've now won three in a row.

Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Centerville, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Springfield ended up a good deal behind Centerville when the teams last played back in February, losing 63-45. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
