Basketball Recap: American Leadership Academy-Johnston Comes Up Short

American Leadership Academy-Johnston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 42-23 to the Thales Academy Rolesville Knights.

Julia Van Valkenburg was her usual excellent self, going 7 of 15 en route to 16 points and six steals for Thales Academy Rolesville. Van Valkenburg is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aeryn Robinson, who posted four points and eight steals.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Leadership Academy-Johnston will challenge St. Thomas More Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, they will square off against Thales Academy Apex at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
