Basketball Recap: Desert Pines Drops Highest Score of Season Against Spring Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Desert Pines). They breezed by the Spring Valley Grizzlies to the tune of 83-55 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Jaguars have posted since December 2, 2024.

Aaron McMorran was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 13 en route to 21 points and eight rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Redding, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points along with six boards and four blocks.

Desert Pines smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Desert Pines' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6. As for Spring Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Desert Pines didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-50 victory against Foothill on the 11th. As for Spring Valley, they will face off against Canyon Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Canyon Springs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season.
