Gunnison Valley came tearing into Monday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Duchesne Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-5 last Friday.

Not much got past Braxton Pickett, who gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Duchesne off the board. Pickett has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Daxton Knudsen was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Gunnison Valley pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Duchesne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Gunnison Valley has already played their next contest, a 10-9 win against Non Varsity Opponent on the 7th. As for Duchesne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-0 victory against Monticello on the 8th.
