Basketball Recap: Tremont Piles Up the Points Against Tupelo Christian Prep

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Thrasher, Tremont was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed by the Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles to the tune of 59-26. The win was some much needed relief for Tremont as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tremont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kinsley White led the charge by putting up 15 points and five steals. Those five steals gave White a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Gillespie, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Tremont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

The victory got Tremont back to even at 10-10. As for Tupelo Christian Prep, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Tremont has already played their next matchup (against Baldwyn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tupelo Christian Prep is taking a road trip to face off against Wheeler at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
