Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln Southwest vs. Marian

The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks will take on the Marian Crusaders at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Lincoln Southwest sitting on 11 straight wins and Marian on eight.

Lincoln Southwest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Elkhorn South a 3-0 shutout. Considering Lincoln Southwest have won 12 contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Elkhorn South with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Tea Tweten, Peyton Held, and Ansley Throener.

Meanwhile, Marian faced Bellevue West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Crusaders came out on top against the Thunderbirds by a score of 2-0. Two seems to be a good number for Marian as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Marian's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Lincoln Southwest, their victory bumped their record up to 17-1.

Lincoln Southwest beat Marian by a goal in their previous matchup back in March, winning 3-2. Will the Silver Hawks repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
