Volleyball Recap: Doniphan West's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Doniphan West can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Clifton-Clyde Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Doniphan West not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Clifton-Clyde between 17 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, Clifton-Clyde saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Scout Skocny had ten digs and one assist.

Doniphan West's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Clifton-Clyde, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

After both having extra time off, Doniphan West and Axtell will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clifton-Clyde, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Valley Heights on the 23rd.
