Baseball Recap: Etna Lions vs. Central Valley Falcons

Etna extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-6. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Valley Falcons. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Clayton Harris made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Peter Harris also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Central Valley, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.6 runs over those games.

On Central Valley's side, Jonathan Horst was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Woolery, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Coincidentally, Etna and Central Valley will both be playing Foothill the next time they take the field. The Falcons will head out to face the Cougars at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
