Football Recap: Yukon Millers vs. Owasso Rams
After flying high against Edmond Santa Fe last Thursday, Yukon came back down to earth. The Millers came up short against the Owasso Rams on Friday, falling 47-27. While losing is never fun, the Millers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Rams are ranked ninth).

Several Millers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tristan Berglan, who threw for 129 yards and one touchdown. Yukon also got help from Zayden Khalil, who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Owasso's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Hall led the charge by rushing for 115 yards and one TD, while also picking up 54 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Hall's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season. Drew Frankenfield was another key player, throwing for 192 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes.
Yukon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Owasso, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Coming up, Yukon will challenge Deer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Millers will be up against the Antlers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.3 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Owasso does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
