Volleyball Recap: Pomona Panthers vs. Boulder Panthers

Pomona had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to Boulder.

Pomona took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-12, 25-15.

Ian Metzler paced Pomona's offense, picking up four kills. Metzler got some help from Mitchell Cox and his nine assists. Josh Floyd controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Boulder got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jarin Delaney out in front who had four digs and four aces. Trevor Gale was another key player, getting 21 assists.

Boulder's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1.

Pomona has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Regis Groff on the 6th. Boulder will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stargate School at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th.
