Soccer Recap: Huguenot Takes a Loss

Huguenot lost against James River Midlothian back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcons came up short against the Rapids, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Huguenot can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while James River Midlothian are ranked 51st).

This is the second loss in a row for Huguenot and nudges their season record down to 5-4-1. As for James River Midlothian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Huguenot will host L.C. Bird at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Huguenot will be up against L.C. Bird's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.5 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for James River Midlothian, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Cosby on the 2nd.
