Volleyball Recap: River Islands Gets the Win

River Islands posted their closest win since February 28th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Chavez Titans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 last Tuesday.

River Islands found their leader in sophomore Taray Irving, who had nine digs and three aces.

River Islands couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 42.9% of their attack attempts. That's the best hitting percentage they've posted all season.

River Islands' win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Chavez, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

River Islands wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Wheatland on the 19th. Chavez has also already played their next contest (against Franklin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
