Baseball Game Preview: Barren County Trojans vs. Adair County Indians

The Barren County Trojans will square off against the Adair County Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Barren County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Lexington Catholic on Wednesday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Knights.

Colten Wilson looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

At the plate, Jackson Reece was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Axel Dysholm, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Barren County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Adair County hadn't beaten North Hardin on the road since April 24, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Indians blew past the Trojans 12-2.

Barren County has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Adair County, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
