Softball Recap: Englewood Comes Up Short

Englewood extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They came up short against the Parker Braves, falling 28-6. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Braves earlier this season, when they won 16-0.

Kammarria Pate made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

As for Parker, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

On Parker's side, the team relied heavily on Aniyah Cherry, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Hannah Goforth was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Englewood will take on Andrew Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.59 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. Parker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
