Basketball Recap: Ignatius Beans Takes a Loss

Ignatius Beans was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 78-39 loss at the hands of the Scammon Bay Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Strivers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th in Alaska, while the Eagles are ranked 38th in Alaska).

Scammon Bay was led to victory by ALBERT YUNAK and DALLAS KAGANAK. YUNAK posted 17 points, while KAGANAK scored 14 points. DANTE UTTEREYUK was another key player, putting up ten points.

Ignatius Beans' defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Scammon Bay, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Ignatius Beans does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Scammon Bay, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Russian Mission at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Scammon Bay knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Russian Mission likes a good challenge.
