Softball Recap: Cheyenne Desert Shields vs. The Meadows School Mustangs
Cheyenne scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against The Meadows School Mustangs as the Cheyenne Desert Shields made off with a 35-20 win. Considering Cheyenne has won seven matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For The Meadows School's part, Kate Verdirame stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Leighton Bekhor was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Cheyenne's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for The Meadows School, they dropped their record down to 9-17 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Cheyenne will head out on the road to challenge Western at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Meadows School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
