Football Game Preview: Keystone Wildcats vs. Black River Pirates

The Keystone Wildcats will face off against the Black River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keystone will be strutting in after a victory while Black River will be coming in after a loss.

It was a proper cat-fight when Keystone challenged Brookside on Friday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 35-26. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Keystone relied on the efforts of Colt Cowling, who rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown, and Zach Taylor, who gained 114 total yards and a touchdown. Those 80 rushing yards gave Cowling a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Black River's offense. They took a hard 14-0 fall against Columbia on Friday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Black River now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Keystone, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Keystone strolled past Black River in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a score of 14-0. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
