Basketball Recap: West Linn Falls Short Against Ranked Davis

West Linn is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Davis. The West Linn Lions fell just short of the Davis Pirates by a score of 65-63. The Lions' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

West Linn's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Reese Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds, and Kaylor Buse, who went 8 of 13 on her way to 19 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, Jordan is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayla Arnold, who posted seven points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

West Linn's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4. As for Davis, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

West Linn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-52 victory against West Salem on the 28th. As for Davis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-62 defeat against Clackamas on the 28th.
