Baseball Recap: Ellet Comes Up Short

Firestone hit Ellet with a 12-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Orangemen came up short against the Falcons, falling 13-4. The Orangemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Keaton McKeel and Cullen McKeel stepped up to the plate in a big way. Keaton went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Cullen went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Roach, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Ellet's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Firestone, they moved to 6-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ellet will take on Crestwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Firestone, they will challenge Stow-Munroe Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
