Basketball Game Preview: Newcomb Skyhawks vs. Zuni Thunderbirds

The Newcomb Skyhawks will challenge the Zuni Thunderbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Newcomb and 12 for Zuni.

Newcomb came up into this matchup off a tough 34-point defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Crownpoint by a score of 45-43 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Zuni duked it out with Thoreau on Thursday. Zuni fell to Thoreau 42-36.

Newcomb's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Zuni, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-20.

Newcomb beat Zuni 58-48 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newcomb since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
