Volleyball Recap: South Davidson Wildcats vs. Bishop McGuinness Villains
South Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Bishop McGuinness Villains. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Villains this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-16, 25-9.
Bishop McGuinness' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miah Sumanth, who had 14 digs. With that strong performance, Sumanth is now averaging an impressive 10 digs per game. Charlotte Kopp also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
South Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Bishop McGuinness, their record now sits at 16-5.
Coincidentally, South Davidson and Bishop McGuinness will both be playing North Stokes the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Villains will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
