Football Recap: Taconic Takes a Loss

If Taconic was riding high fresh off their 58-16 takedown of Commerce last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Thunder were beaten by the Easthampton/Hampshire Eagles 30-0 on Thursday. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.

Easthampton/Hampshire was led to victory by Patrick Larson and Colin Hogan. Larson gained 161 total yards and two touchdowns, while Hogan rushed for 57 yards and two scores on only six carries. Those 57 rushing yards gave Hogan a new career-high.

Taconic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Easthampton/Hampshire, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Taconic will take on rival South Hadley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Easthampton/Hampshire is set to challenge their familiar foe Holyoke at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
