Volleyball Game Preview: Union Pines Vikings vs. White Oak Vikings

Union Pines will take on White Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Pines is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Union Pines and Harnett Central, and Union Pines kept the tradition alive. The Vikings put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday.

While Union Pines might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Harnett Central scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-19.

Union Pines' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Allie Bauer, who had 16 assists and six digs, and Mylee Scruggs, who had eight digs. Bauer is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 25 games she's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but White Oak had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 3-1.

White Oak's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Union Pines, their victory bumped their record up to 22-2.
