Basketball Game Preview: Pana Panthers vs. Newton Eagles

The Pana Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Newton Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Pana has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 23.

Last Thursday, Pana came up short against Litchfield and fell 46-37.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newton). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Neoga 79-47. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Newton has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Pana, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Things could have been worse for Pana, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-40 loss to Newton when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Pana avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
