Softball Recap: Seminole Takes a Loss

After flying high against St. Petersburg last Monday, Seminole came back down to earth. The Warhawks fell just short of the Pinellas Park Patriots by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warhawks have suffered since February 26th.

Seminole got a good showing from Lilly Johnson, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Johnson has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Seminole saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Cochran, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Seminole has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Pinellas Park, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seminole will head out to take on Northeast at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Pinellas Park, they will head out on the road to square off against Tarpon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
