Softball Recap: Goleman Takes a Loss

Goleman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 16-6 to the Hialeah-Miami Lakes Trojans. The Gators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Olivia Mata made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-2. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Britney Cintas was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Goleman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goleman will take on Flanagan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Flanagan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, they will square off against South Dade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
