Football Game Preview: Seffner Christian Crusaders vs. Foundation Christian Academy Panthers

The Seffner Christian Crusaders will take on the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Seffner Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Foundation Christian Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Seffner Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 27-7 margin over Carrollwood Day. The Crusaders' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Seffner Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendra Yates, who picked up 50 receiving yards and two TDs. That's the most receiving yards Yates has posted since back in March. Another signal caller making a difference was Brooke Knox, who threw for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 88.9% of her passes.

Seffner Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Morgyn Jackson and Maya Hastings. Jackson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Foundation Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 14-0 bruising from Bishop McLaughlin Catholic.

Foundation Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Seffner Christian, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.
