Recap: Indian Land Warriors vs. Lancaster Bruins
The Indian Land Warriors fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Lancaster Bruins on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bruins. Indian Land has not had much luck with Lancaster recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Indian Land saw an underclassman step up: Emily Callahan scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Callahan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Young, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Lancaster got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Angel Cousar out in front who scored 28 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cousar has scored all season. Eliza Baskins was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Indian Land has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Lancaster, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Land will challenge York at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Lancaster, they will head out on the road to take on Northwestern at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Northwestern has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
