Softball Recap: Summit Takes a Loss

Summit was the 5-4 winner over Grand Terrace when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The SkyHawks fell just short of the Titans by a score of 13-12 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Arianna Munoz and Isabella Smith stepped up to the plate in a big way. Munoz went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Smith went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Munoz is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Garcia, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

With the loss, Summit broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-14. As for Grand Terrace, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Summit nor Grand Terrace have any future games scheduled.
