Basketball Game Preview: Richlands Wildcats vs. White Oak Vikings

Richlands hasn't had much luck against White Oak recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Richlands Wildcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the White Oak Vikings at 8:00 p.m.

On Monday, Richlands took a blow against Swansboro, falling 71-31. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Pirates are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, White Oak was able to grind out a solid victory over West Carteret on Monday, taking the game 71-59.

Richlands' defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for White Oak, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Richlands was taken down by White Oak 77-50 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Richlands, Derrick Benbow Jr (who went 8 for 13 en route to 21 points and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
