Seneca Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Hempfield Area for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-8 victory. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won eight in a row.
Seneca Valley found their leader in sophomore Brody Horn, who threw for 78 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 38 yards.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Central Catholic's strategy against Norwin on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Vikings blew the Knights out of the water with a 35-6 final score. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five contests by 29 points or more so far this season.
Seneca Valley better keep an eye on Jayden Alexander. He was instrumental in Central Catholic's win, rushing for 109 yards and one score. Those 109 rushing yards gave Alexander a new career-high.
One reason for the win was Central Catholic's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for ten sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ashton Blatt and Manny Regus, who racked up six sacks between them. Zach Gleason was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making seven total tackles.
Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Seneca Valley, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-5.
Seneca Valley suffered a grim 38-14 defeat to Central Catholic when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Raiders, Elijah Faulkner (who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
