Volleyball Recap: Wooster Comes Up Short

If Wooster was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Debbie Smith CTE Academy on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Colts came up short against the South Tahoe Vikings on Saturday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost nine in a row.

Wooster took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-19, 25-20.

Emily Roman paced Wooster's offense, picking up six kills. Roman got some help from Madeline Crews and her 11 assists. Jailin Cervantes controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Wooster's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for South Tahoe, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season.

Wooster will face off against Truckee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Tahoe, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Debbie Smith CTE Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th.
