Football Recap: Wilcox Takes a Loss

Wilcox was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 34-13 to the Salinas Cowboys. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Cowboys are ranked 184th).

Wilcox's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-2. As for Salinas, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wilcox will square off against rival Palo Alto at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Chargers 12.5, the Vikings 4.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Salinas is set to take on their familiar foe St. Francis at 3:40 p.m. on Saturday.
