Amari Melton commands the offense for Yellow Jackets win

Recap: Forest Hills Yellow Jackets vs. Anson Bearcats

Even though the Anson Bearcats scored an imposing 82 points on Friday, the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets still came out on top. Forest Hills walked away with an 89-82 win over Anson. That's two games straight that Forest Hills has won by exactly seven points.

Forest Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amari Melton led the charge by scoring 25 points along with eight rebounds. Melton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Jahmarion Mingo was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.

When it comes to explaining why Anson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Little. Despite the final result, he scored 48 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Little has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmanuel Sturdivant, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

The victory makes it two in a row for Forest Hills and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for Anson, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-7.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Monroe the next time they take the court. Forest Hills will head out to face Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Anson will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
